Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Maharashtra): A shocking case of kidnapping has emerged from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, where a seven-year-old boy, the son of a well-known builder, was abducted on Tuesday night. The kidnappers allegedly demanded a ransom of Rs 2 crore. The boy was abducted near Central Mall in the Cidco N-4 area around 8:40 pm. The incident occurred just 100 meters from the child’s home, in full view of his father.
Kidnapping Caught On CCTV
CCTV footage from the area posted on X by Ritam Marathi showed a black car speeding away towards the child. The abductors can be seen getting out of the vehicle and forcing the child to get into the car. Later they can be seen speeding away from the spot. As soon as the kidnapping took place, the police were alerted and a thorough investigation was launched. The police are now analyzing the footage and conducting a detailed probe.

Details On The Child Kidnapped
The victim, identified as Chaitanya Sunil Tupe (7), is the son of prominent local builder Sunil Tupe. On Tuesday night, after dinner, Sunil Tupe took his son for a walk. While the father walked ahead, Chaitanya followed on his bicycle. Suddenly, a black car pulled up beside the child and within moments, the kidnappers grabbed him and sped away.
The car then went towards Hanuman Chowk and then towards Cidco area. The car then proceeded towards Harsul Sawangi. The father witnessed the entire incident but was helpless to stop the abductors.
Police Investigation Underway
Following the abduction, police teams arrived at the scene and secured all CCTV footage from the area, as per reports by Marathi news portals. Initial reports suggest that the kidnappers demanded Rs 2 crore from the businessman before carrying out the kidnapping. However, the police have not yet provided any official confirmation regarding the ransom demand. The cops are now working to track down the abductors and rescue the child safely.
On receiving the information, the police swung into action and sent the description of the car to all the check posts in the city. Nakabandi was deployed in the city, Chikalthana, Karmad, Jalna, Paithan, Phulambri, Khuldabad and Gangapur area.
The police searched the footage of around 100 CCTV cameras to trace the car. As the footage were of inferior quality, the police faced difficulty in tracing the car. Meanwhile, CP Praveen Patil issued the order to trace the car immediately. Around 30 officers, 100 constables, DB teams, crime branch, the economic offence wing and cyber police station officers immediately started the search.
