Popular television actress Surbhi Chandna recently took to Instagram to share a heartfelt post about her first year of marriage. Before her first anniversary with husband Karan Sharma, the actress opened up about the ups and downs of married life. In an emotional note, she also revealed how Karan has been her biggest support in her life.
Posting a picture taken by her husband two months after got married, Surbhi said that social media often showcases only the happy moments, but she wanted to shed light on the challenges as well.
"Warning: Don’t Come at my Better Half... he’s not trying to make me cry, instead doing the opposite. Instagram is mostly about all the good times and very rarely about the lows. It’s such a strange happy feeling that in a month we will be a year old in our marriage."
The actress, who has been married for almost a year after dating for 13 years, opened up about her initial struggles, including missing her parents and adapting to new responsibilities. "I missed my parents so much right after I got married and would break down missing my dad the most. The responsibilities that came along—no one ever told me or prepared me for them."
Surbhi and her husband also ventured into the music and production business while managing her acting career, which, she admitted, brought challenges. "Working together as professionals came with our share of fights. Keeping egos away and finding that middle ground has been a learning. We uplift each other when things don’t go as planned and are on the path to helping each other follow our dreams and passions."
Opening up about the age-old belief that the first year of marriage is the toughest, she agreed, saying, "It’s definitely important to be on the same page with your partner. God knows how our parents made it look easy."
Despite the challenges, Surbhi said that she and Karan are learning to balance love, work, and personal growth together.
For the unversed, Surbhi and Karan got married on March 2, 2024, in a traditional Hindu wedding set up in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The actress, in one of her interviews had revealed why she and Karan kept their relationship under the wraps for 13 long years. Surbhi said, ''We kept it like that because we liked it like that.''
On the work front, Surbhi and Karan have recently launched their music label. The actress was last seen in a music video along Kunal Jaisingh, her co-star from the show Ishqbaaz.
